A large portion of the costs for the ESG Bonn choir is very generously subsidized by the regional church. This allows us to keep costs very low. Nevertheless, we've decided that we'd like to treat ourselves to a few things and therefore collect a participation fee (for example, to hire musicians for our concerts).
The facts about the participation fee:
The participation fee is collected during the winter semester for the entire year.
It is entirely voluntary – those who cannot pay don't have to. We always find a solution in individual cases. No one should be unable to sing in the choir for financial reasons.
You decide the amount of the fee yourself. We recommend €25 for students, €40 for working professionals, and €10 for those who are currently short on funds.
What costs will you incur?

- The participation fee is charged on a semester-by-semester basis.
- It is voluntary - if you can't pay, you don't have to pay. We always find a solution in individual cases. Nobody should not be able to sing in the choir for financial reasons.
- You determine the amount of the fee yourself. We recommend € 25 for students, € 40 for working people and € 10 for those who are short of money.
What other costs are involved?
Our rehearsal weekend is also generously subsidised. The personal contribution for the 2025 summer term was €50.
The cost of concert attire depends on personal needs and taste (the ‘dress code’ will be communicated in good time).
